Hi, I'm Shane Porter a functional ceramics artist in Denver, Colorado. I specialize in teapots and table ware, but have raku and sculpture as well. I have been working in studio ceramics since 2003 and have developed a broad repertoire of work. I have become most recognized for my teapots, with pieces in museums and many private collections. All of my table service is handmade, functional artwork. I have traditional work like the sake cruet pictured above, top left. It is fired in a faux woodfired glaze that is far more earth friendly. Next to that is a whimsical yet functional teapot named "Chicken Little". Bottom left is a piece from one of my most popular teapot lines, the Dragon series. It is a "Snow Dragon" and is designed to evoke the feeling of a dragon in mid-flight.
